The driver of a Cube truck rests between life and death in hospital after allegedly causing a serious road accident after falling asleep at the wheel in the d’Anjou area of Montreal on Wednesday morning.

The collision occurred around 6:30 a.m. on Boulevard Louis-H. La Fontaine, near the intersection of Boulevard Henri-Bourassa Est.
According to police, it is likely that the driver of the Cube truck fell asleep at the wheel before violently colliding with another Cube truck that was immobilized at a red light. The latter was thrown onto a car in front of him.
Firefighters were called to the scene to free the driver of the first truck, who was trapped in the cab of his vehicle.
The elderly man, in his 30s, was taken to hospital in critical condition. The doctors fear for his life.
The other two drivers involved were not injured.
Part of Boulevard Louis-H. La Fontaine was closed for several hours to allow SPVM collision investigation specialists to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
