Guilherme de Padua seeks forgiveness from Gloria Perez and Raul Gazilla for the murder of Daniella Perez

Guilherme de Padua, convicted of the 1992 murder of actress Daniella Perez, posted a video on his YouTube profile asking forgiveness from the artist’s mother, Gloria Perez, and her thenhusband, Raul Gazolla.

In the video, Padua first refutes people who don’t believe in her regret for the crime, saying that for years she has dreamed of the moment when she will apologize to author Gloria Perez.

“I thought about getting lawyers for Raul Gazella, for Gloria Perez. I thought of asking someone to facilitate this meeting. I couldn’t imagine anything on the internet, through a video. An apology is a request for forgiveness. It’s not that simple. What will she want? Isn’t that a pole? A lot goes through the mind of a person who has committed a crime. (…) It’s not that easy to make a video, and will this video carry the weight I need? I didn’t imagine it, but maybe I’ll never have a real opportunity to ask for forgiveness,” he says.

“Therefore, Gloria Perez, I ask your forgiveness for all the suffering I have caused you. I have never forgotten that meeting in prison. I never forgot. Raul Gazella, I beg your forgiveness police station, you were there and you dragged yourself to me. You hugged me while weeping. And that’s when I saw that I’m the worst person in the world. I’ve never felt anything like this in my life,” he continued.

In the end, Padua, who is now a parish priest, tries to put himself in the victim’s shoes and says that if something like this happened to him, he probably wouldn’t forgive it. “I apologize to family members, friends, everyone who was involved in this story, who was sad, who was outraged. I know this apology might mean nothing, but I want to record it. If it were you, I probably would. I don’t forgive, so I don’t expect forgiveness,” he added.

Guilherme de Pádua and his thenwife Paula Thomaz murdered Daniella Perez on December 28, 1992. The actress, who starred alongside the actor in the soap opera Corpo e Alma, written by her mother, suffered 18 stab wounds to the body, 12 of them to the heart.

Five years after the crime, Padua was sentenced to 19 years in prison and Paula to 18 years and 6 months. At the time, the actor’s wife was pregnant and the two split shortly after the baby was born.
