Singer Liniker was the first attraction to perform on the final day of Rock in Rio this Sunday the 11th. The artist who took to the Sunset Stage cried as he spoke about representation.

“That’s what they say, black people, black transvestites, black women can’t do that. And we can. Today is about being excellent. Enjoy it,” she said excitedly.

She also took the opportunity to thank her fans.

“Thank you for being here in the first hour today. So many people here to see my work. This day is very important to me, I am very excited and fulfilled to be able to do my job with dignity and to serve you with excellence.”

At the end of the festival there will be a 100% female lineup. The Sunset Stage will continue to feature shows by Macy Gray and Ludmilla.
