The daughters of Caleb, the guards’ latest victim

We’re talking about: Netflix, the famous American platform committed to broadcasting Caleb’s daughters, specifically chose to censor one episode.

The reason? A character paints his face black to play one of the Three Kings in a Christmas play.

I should point out that the series, filmed in the 1990s, is set in Mauricie at the end of the 19th century. But Netflix doesn’t understand Quebec’s story and its officials have chosen to see her as blackface, a reason that justifies the episode’s censorship.

Everything is crazy in this story.

First, a cult series from Quebec is censored in the name of the new American morality based on racism. We take the liberty of denying Quebecers their own cultural heritage. What will our mad censors say when they find out that what they call blackface is used in Count and Roll even by Nationals players as a symbol of anti-racism?

Second, this decision reflects pressure from the neo-puritans who want to impose their view of blasphemy on us. Don’t like a series scene? They censor it. They don’t like the title of a book, they want to ban it, as we see with White Negroes of America. They don’t like it when a professor uses the word “nigger” from an educational point of view, they ruin their career, as we saw at the University of Ottawa.

Third, there is no blackface in Quebec. It’s all about the context, and our context has nothing to do with the United States. It’s imported trauma. In the name of “decolonization” and openness to “minorities,” Quebec favors American cultural colonialism.

We must rid Quebec of Wokism and rid it of American racial neuroses. And we must restore all of Caleb’s daughters.
