Eagles will host the Giants in the Divisional Round – Bleeding Green Nation

We now know which team will host the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2023 NFL Playoffs Divisional Round at Lincoln Financial Field.

After the New York Giants beat the Minnesota Vikings in wild card action on Sunday, the Eagles meet the G-Men for the third time this season.

The first meeting between these two teams took place in week 14. The Birds won 48-22 in a blowout. And eight of the Giants’ points came against Philly’s backup defenseman in garbage time.

The second meeting, as you will recall, was a week 18 game that featured unusual circumstances. The Eagles played for the No. 1 spot in the NFC playoff picture while the Giants rested key players as they were tied at the No. 6 spot. It looked like the Eagles were trying to execute a vanilla game plan while trying to keep Jalen Hurts safe from injury in the quarterback’s first game. They couldn’t start the game that early, which wasn’t ideal, but ultimately won 22-16.

The third meeting is unlikely to be a walk in the park for the Eagles. The Giants are well trained and the players seem to be fighting hard for Brian Daboll. Daniel Jones takes care of football. Saquon Barkley is a major gaming threat. New York’s lightning-fast defense under Wink Martindale has the potential to mess with hurts, especially when the QB is working at less than 100% due to shoulder pain.

At the end of the day, however, the Eagles are the more talented team. And they’re coming off a bye while the Giants have to go from a Sunday road game to a Saturday road game. The Birds are expected to win and host the NFC Championship Game in Philly.
