  • A man was arrested near Taylor Swift's townhouse in New York on Saturday.
  • Witnesses told the New York Post that the man tried to break into the singer's home.
  • Swift spent Sunday in Buffalo for a Chiefs game, so it was unclear whether she was home during the arrest.

Taylor Swift's New York City townhouse appears to have been the target of another burglary attempt, this time by a man who was arrested near the singer's Tribeca home on Saturday as police responded to a person's report of who had committed administrative offenses.

Witnesses said the man tried to enter the superstar's townhouse in the early afternoon but was unsuccessful, Page Six reported.

Police would not confirm an attempted break-in at Swift's home, but officers arrested a man on the same street when they were told he was trying to open a door to a building, an NYPD spokesman said Sunday. The man was charged on an unrelated 2017 arrest warrant out of Brooklyn The spokesman said he did not respond to a summons.

Authorities did not release the man's name. It was not clear if Swift was home at the time.

Shortly after, Swift was spotted at Highmark Stadium in Buffalo on Sunday. Wearing a beige jacket with the Chiefs logo and a red hat, the singer came to support her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. According to the New York Post, Swift was greeted with cheers and boos from Bills fans.

Swift was accompanied by Travis' brother Jason Kelce, who was seen shirtless and holding a beer.

The Tribeca townhouse was the scene of several other break-ins and attempts when Swift was not there, including some by suspected stalkers.

In 2022, a man was charged with trespassing and stalking after authorities said he entered two Tribeca residences linked to Swift. Also that year, a man was arrested for driving a car into the townhouse. He reportedly told police he wouldn't leave until he met with Swift.

In 2018, another man broke into her townhouse and was taking a nap, police said. The same man was charged with another burglary a year later Building after serving a prison sentence.

According to police, suspected stalkers were also arrested at several of Swift's other homes, including in Beverly Hills, California, and Watch Hill, Rhode Island.

Representatives for Swift did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider.
