A Florida man has been arrested by police after he ripped his python’s head off with his teeth during an argument.
The New York Post reports that 22-year-old Kevin Justin Mayorga sank his fangs into the snake’s neck during an altercation with a woman at a Cutler Bay apartment on Monday.
Police discovered the decapitated reptile when they arrived at the scene of the incident. They broke down the door when they heard the woman’s screams.
Mayorga is said to have attempted to block access to law enforcement officers while briefly detaining the woman. The latter is said to have confirmed to the police that the young man tore off the python’s head with his mouth.
The arrest of the individual proved difficult because he resisted the discharge of an electric pistol.
He will face charges of animal cruelty with intent to kill, forcible detention and resisting arrest. His bail is $15,000.
