A man was stabbed in Montreal East –

One person was reportedly injured in an armed attack in Montreal East on Friday night.

Shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday morning, authorities from the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) were contacted about a case of armed assault. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered that a 17-year-old male had been stabbed multiple times in the upper and lower body. They found him on Avenue Georges-V, near Rue Hochelaga, in Montreal East.

At the time of writing, the victim was taken to a hospital where he was still conscious, reported SPVM spokesman Jean-Pierre Brabant. His life is now out of danger.

According to initial information from the police, it was a conflict that escalated between several people that triggered the attack. The suspects reportedly left the scene in the car before police arrived.

A restriction that was on Avenue Georges-V between Avenue Souligny and Rue Hochelaga will now be lifted.

According to the SPVM, the 17-year-old victim also has a criminal record. He will be met by investigators later today to better understand the circumstances of the incident. So far there have been no arrests.
