The Boston Bruins, who robbed their captain Patrice Bergeron for a second straight playoff game, bit the dust against the Florida Panthers by beating 6-3 at TD Garden on Wednesday night.

The third period was disastrous for the Oursons, who conceded four goals in the signing, including two from defender Brandon Montour. A win against Boston is a big deal this season as Jim Montgomery’s men have lost just 12 times in regular time during their 82-game regular schedule.
Montour has been making arrows out of random wood in the last 20 minutes. After just 22 seconds in the third period, he put a devastating wrist shot into the top of Linus Ullmark’s net. A dozen minutes later, two Bruins tried to stop another shot from the quarterback, but the quarterback scored again.
In the first period nobody made the lantern flicker, and in the second the score opened. After spending the last 11 games on the touchline, Sam Bennett celebrated his return to the game with a net. Good old Eric Staal imitated him before the engagement ended.
Boston’s special teams tried to make the difference, with Brad Marchand scoring a shorthanded goal and Tyler Bertuzzi hitting on the power play. Taylor Hall also closed the gap late in regulation. Their other 33 attempts were blocked by Alex Lyon, who regained his composure after a difficult opener.
Carter Verhaeghe and Eetu Luostarinen (empty goal) completed the goal for the Panthers, who return to Sunrise in a 1-1 draw on Friday.
