A woman's first marriage to a hologram

Barcelona. They will be the world's first hybrid marriage consisting of a woman and a hologram created using artificial intelligence. And they are converting a house in Menorca to live on the island, at least temporarily.

The woman is the Catalan contemporary artist Alicia Framis and the hologram is named AiLex. They've been living together for months now, and as seen on their website and Instagram account, they're doing what any traditional couple would do, or at least represent it.

The wedding will take place in Rotterdam next summer, and a party and banquet is planned for both the real and digital worlds.

All this is part of the artistic project The Hybrid Couple promoted by Alicia Framis, with which she wants to think about the future of emotional relationships and show that it is possible and in some cases even positive to live with a hologram.

A woman39s first marriage to a hologramAlicia Framis is also exploring the possibility of taking out the first life insurance policy for holograms.

The wedding ceremony will be the main performance of the project, but it goes beyond something concrete.

In fact, according to Rac1, a house in Menorca is already being converted to allow this hybrid couple to live together.

In addition, the possibility of taking out insurance for holograms or taking out a mortgage has already been considered.

The hologram was created from the artist's previous experiences with her ex-partners and with people she knows. Most of her ex-partners were Dutch, which is why she wants to get married in the Netherlands.

“Love and sex with robots and holograms is an inevitable reality.” They make great companions and can express empathy.

Just as phones saved us from loneliness and filled the void in our lives, holograms can go a step further as an interactive presence in our homes,” says Framis.

“Human and artificial intelligence companions can be a useful option for people who need companionship,” he says.

“I have always wanted to advance art and am now researching how AI art can reduce feelings of loneliness in people.”

We know that robots and holograms will become personal companions.

In my case, I want to develop an artistic way for an artist, in this case me, to build a relationship with a hologram and explore how that relationship will emerge.
