In its draft to ensure food security, Brussels attacks traderestricting measures and criticizes the export license system introduced by Hungary
“No to traderestrictive measures” Brussels addresses the issue of warrelated consequences for the food supply, writing that the Commission “strongly opposes” measures restricting trade, as well as possibly the export license system unilaterally adopted by Hungary.
Help is needed for the poorest “Studies have shown that since the 2008 food price increase, families have, on average, bought fewer fruits and vegetables and switched to cheaper foods that tend to be high in calories and low in nutrients,” says the draft law, which proposes that consider measures such as the abolition of the VAT on certain foods.
