A few days after celebrating the tenth anniversary of their inevitable introduction to Quebec audiences, the album Gullywood, the Loud Lary Ajust Trio closed the 33rd edition of Francos de Montréal on Saturday.

After watching their die-hard fans snag all the tickets for their show at Club Soda in minutes, ‘LLA’ knew they had to double the price for their second reunion gig.
The solution: a terrific show in front of one of their largest audiences, mixing the curious and diehards. Even Mother Nature was lenient in the early evening to let the bravest jump dry into the ‘mosh pit’.
The triad took audiences on a chronological epic through their discography, kicking off the ball with the eccentric “Outremont.” Huge letters reading “Gullywood,” a homage to the Hollywood sign, also dominated the Bell Stage.
Both Loud and Lary Kidd have illustrious solo careers and always count on the unwavering support of their outstanding composer Ajust. However, their fans will agree: when they are on a track together, something happens, and even more so on a stage.
The rousing energy of Laurent Fortier-Brassard still harmonizes perfectly with the outrageous charisma and demeanor of Simon Cliche Trudeau. The years have not harmed this happy marriage, which reaches its climax on “Gruau” and “ONO”.
With four projects spread between 2012 and 2016, the trio from Montreal’s Ahuntsic neighborhood took a hip-hop scene in need of love by storm. They reminded us of the basics of this new era of “Queb Rap” with “Candlewood Suites”, “Héros” or the hilarious “James Hyndman Money”.
For his last edition at the helm of the Francos, Laurent Saulnier once again bet on local hip-hop artists on the biggest stages of the festival site… and we don’t blame him!
