Adele has confirmed she will perform summer shows in Munich in August, which will be her first performances in mainland Europe since 2016.

The global superstar, who is currently performing weekly in a Las Vegas residency, will hit the stage in Europe on August 2, 3, 9 and 10, 2024.

Adele will appear at the Munich trade fair in an open-air environment created exclusively for the special shows.

The bespoke arena will feature a combination of bleacher seating and standing room, with a capacity for 80,000 people per night.

Announcing the news on Instagram on Wednesday, Adele told her fans: “A few months ago I got a call about a series of shows in the summer.” “I was completely happy with my shows in London's Hyde Park and my stay in Vegas , so I had no other plans.”

Fans were thrilled by the announcement, with many commenting on Instagram that they were planning road trips across Europe to see their idol.

Adele is currently performing the final leg of her critically acclaimed Las Vegas residency, “Weekends With Adele,” which runs through mid-June.

By the end, Adele will have completed an incredible 50 Weekends With Adele dates (100 shows in total). She also thrilled her British audience at her sold-out London Hyde Park shows in 2022.

The star sent her fans into a frenzy on Tuesday when she announced she would be revealing some exciting news in 24 hours.

The 35-year-old singer cut a glamorous figure in black and posted a video to her social media to the music for her single “Oh My God.”

Fans took to the comments section to theorize what Adele's mysterious announcement could be – with guesses ranging from new music to the singer launching a makeup range.

They wrote: “Is this a joke for her beauty brand?” “What are you teasing Adele with?”

“What are you up to, Queen?”, “It’s your world and we’re just living in it,” and “Oh my God, daydreamers screaming in 3-2-1.”

Another follower joked: “Just take my credit card now, whatever that means.”

In the photos, Adele wore her signature black winged eyeliner, Hollywood waves, and glossy lipstick.

Last week, the singer confirmed that she plans to embark on another world tour after the release of her next album, but admitted that wouldn't be happening any time soon.

Her stint on “Weekends With Adele” at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace is expected to end in June 2024, giving her more time.

During her show on Saturday, Adele said she wanted to tour her next album, but also admitted that she didn't think she would be writing the new album for a while.

Their last album was 30, which was released in 2021 to widespread commercial and critical success, winning British Album of the Year at the 2022 Brit Awards and becoming the best-selling album of the year.

Speaking about the next album, Adele, who confirmed last year that she had married Rich Paul, admitted: “I just don't think I'll be writing an album for a long time.”

However, she then promised the audience: “But next time I'll come wherever you live.”

This came after fans raised hopes that Adele would be back on tour after she shared an emotional post on Instagram about her final shows in Las Vegas.

Adele reflected on how she previously “lost the love of performing” and how performing had “changed” since then [her] Life'.

“It just made me realize how much I really enjoy being on stage, that I'm damn good at it and that I'm 100% where I belong!” Adele wrote.

She ended her post by saying: “So let's go one last time before I turn into a showgirl forever!” I love you and we'll see you on the other side soon x'.
