Adult film star Kagney Linn Karter was struggling with his mental health, according to friends.
According to a report from TMZ, adult film star Kagney Linn Karter died in Ohio last week. She was 36 years old. Her death was ruled a suicide. The Cuyahoga County Coroner's Office received her body Thursday from an address in the city of Parma.
A representative from the city's police department told TMZ that Kagney apparently died by suicide.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to cover Kagney's funeral costs. The site describes her as a “beautiful soul” who was “loved by many.”
The two women behind GoFundMepage claim to be the owners of a gym that Kagney appears to frequent in the Cleveland, Ohio area, and they say she also opened her own studio in Akron, which is her first Pole Studio from GoFundMepage It's kind of there.
The GoFundMe page remembered Kagney as a woman who wore many hats. “She was a performer, a singer, a dancer, a daughter and a friend. She first came to our Cleveland studio in November 2019, fresh from LA, raised and ready to jump back to the top in a new community where she knew no one and no one knew her.
“She wasn’t intimidated or afraid. The fact that she was the new kid on the block didn't bother her in the least. She immediately warmed to the studio and all of the students with an effortless grace, and it soon felt like she had always been apart of the studio from the start.
But the fundraising page also says: “Despite all of her many impressive achievements and talents, Kagney has struggled with mental health issues over the years.”
“As lonely as she undoubtedly felt within the confines of her own head, she continued to strive to be there for her friends and the community that cared for her. She fought her own battles with the same tenacity and drive she displayed in every other area of her life, with as much strength as she could.
The GoFundMe page set up by her former coaches confirmed that Kagney died by suicide.
Kagney entered the adult film industry in the mid-2000s, but recently returned to Ohio and started a pole gym.
Throughout her career, Karter won several awards and received numerous AVN Award nominations, as detailed in her IMDb profile.
