After sackings and “pitis”, King Charles is booed in Wales

The reign of King Charles III. has only just begun and already has controversial episodes. This Friday (September 16) the new monarch and his wife, QueenConsort Camilla Parker, paid their first official visit to Wales, a nation that is integrating the United Kingdom. However, the couple at the head of the British throne did not receive a warm welcome from the population. Instead, the subjects booed the current sovereign.

During their visit to Wales, Charles and Camilla attend a prayer and reflection service for the life of the Queen at Llandall Cathedral in the Welsh capital of Cardiff. It is the first time the king has come to the country since ascending the throne on the 8th following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

As per protocol, Charles has visited the countries of the UK such as England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It’s not the first time since the proclamation that the king has been booed. On Sunday (9 November), opponents of the sovereign and the monarchy took to the streets of the Scottish capital, Edinburgh, to mourn the succession of Queen Elizabeth II’s firstborn. Some people carried placards reading “Abolish the monarchy” to the demonstrations.

Despite going through the uncomfortable situation, King Charles III. a special affection for the country, after all he held the title of Prince of Wales for five decades. “His passion and affection for Wales was evident. He has shown a lifelong commitment to the Welsh people,” said a spokesman for the new monarch.

Clerks worked for the new sovereign while he was acting as prince. The professionals received the termination by letter. The message was that employee benefits are no longer needed. The news says the teams are receiving help from the British Crown to find new jobs.

When staff read of the layoff, they were furious, according to The Guardian. “Everyone is angry, including the private secretaries and the command staff.
