Alison Hammond and Paloma Faith came together on Friday's This Morning to discuss their split from their children's fathers.
During the candid conversation, the pair admitted that they both “felt like failures” after their long-term relationship ended.
Alison, 48, was previously married, although it is unclear when they split, to Noureddine Boufaied, with whom she shares son Aiden, 18. While Paloma, 42, confirmed her split from the father of her two young daughters Leyman Lahcine in 2022.
The singer appeared on the sofa to talk about her new album The Glorification of Sadness, which she said was inspired by her “painful” breakup.
I say: “I feel a real sense of responsibility, periods of grief are still present and even two years later I still feel the guilt of failing my children.”

“It's definitely the biggest failure and the only thing I regret, and I've never really been one to regret anything.”
Giving advice, Alison said: “That doesn't make you a failure – you're a single mother and a pop star ruining life. 'This is your life, your journey and your story.'
Before admitting, “I sensed the failure of my son's father when we separated, but he has moved on and now has three more children who are part of our lives.”
Alison was married to the Manchester taxi driver and found out she was pregnant shortly after appearing on the third series of Big Brother.
The star refused to reveal her father's name at the time, but later posed for a photo shoot together for a magazine while she was three months pregnant.
Alison has previously admitted that her only regret is that she no longer has children.
In 2021, she told Hello magazine: “My only wish is that I had more children.” I wish I had had three more back then.
“I would definitely consider adoption in the future.” I have so much more love to give – I don't think I'm done having a child, I'm just not.

“Aidan already has two sisters and a brother on his father’s side that he still sees.”
Paloma, who has chosen not to publish the names of her children, gave birth to her first daughter in December 2016, followed by a second in February 2021.
In October, she admitted that her split from Leyman was “the worst thing that ever happened to her.”
Speaking on the Reign with Josh Smith podcast, she confirmed that she and her ex are still in touch, but sometimes the conversations can be “shattering” – she described the split as “devastating” yet “liberating”.
Paloma used the relationship's grieving process as inspiration for her new album and lead single, “How You Leave A Man.”
She said: “It's the worst break-up I've ever had because it's the longest relationship I've ever had and we obviously had two children together so it's the worst thing that's ever happened to me in my life is.”
“I couldn't ignore it when I was writing, but it's also what I feel most private about because it involves children. So it’s strange, but I hope the songs speak for themselves.”
“I don't mince words, do I, when I do a song called 'How You Leave A Man'? It's like, “Oh, I wonder what it's about.” But I find it liberating.
“I feel like the entire album, from start to finish, essentially chronicles the stages of grief, going from the self-destructive moments to the insular moments to the really vulnerable moments and actually the unusual moments for me.” “An artist are the powerful moments.”
