Amy Grant woke up with a surprise facelift after undergoing surgery following a cycling accident

Amy Grant is trying to look the best after her 2022 bicycle accident in which she suffered a brain injury.

The “Breath of Heaven” singer told E! It was recently reported that she underwent a surprise facelift following a five-hour operation following her accident.

“They asked me, 'Hey, we're going into your neck, do you want a facelift?' And I said, “Dear God, no, I actually have to be on stage in “I didn't ask, but after the operation my neck was a little more tense.”

She said after all the work she felt like an “old, beat-up car that was repainted and had the dents knocked out. And it was just, I mean, that’s a gift.”

Grant said doctors discovered a growing cyst in her throat after her accident.

“I had this bike accident and unbeknownst to me there was actually a cyst growing in my neck and because of the trauma of that bike accident there was a lot of growth,” the “Baby, Baby” singer said. “I had this five-hour operation and they removed it.”

The 63-year-old said that the accident also left her with short-term memory problems and that she had to re-teach herself to sing after her neck surgery.

“I still have problems with my short-term memory. My balance is still weird. I made a joke about it last night. You know, sometimes I walk around like I'm drunk and I just laugh at everything,” she told the outlet.

She added: “I can’t remember what I can’t remember.”

The singer, who is back on tour, said she wasn't sure if she would get on a bike again after her 2022 accident saw her hit a pothole and fall unconscious.

“There are so many great sports to enjoy, and who knows?” she said.

Grant said she was “feeling the love” from fans after going back on tour.

“My reasons for touring are: I don't go on stage because I have to hear applause. I’ve always loved creating spaces and I think it feels like that continues to be important.”
