Electronic Arts for sale? Apple in the applicants

In particular, in this report published on the Puck website, we learn that for several years Electronic Arts has been trying to sell itself or merge with a company in the audiovisual or new technologies sectors.

Andrew Wilson and Electronic Arts have held discussions with a number of potential buyers, including Disney, Apple and Amazon.
Several sources familiar with these discussions say that EA was adamant about the option to sell and only became bolder in the wake of the Microsoft Activision deal.

And obviously, NBCUniversal was the favorite for the deal, with the goal of creating an entertainment hub on its services. Unfortunately, the final agreement between the two parties was never found, especially because of the purchase price.

It remains to be seen how far talks with Apple went and whether Apple could really be interested in such a transaction, although video games seem to have returned to the company’s main goals.
