Donald Trump knew some of his supporters were armed when he called for them to march on the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, and then attempted to get behind the wheel of a car to join them, according to scathing statements that submitted to Congress on Tuesday, June 28. Cassidy Hutchinson, a former White House staffer, revealed before a parliamentary committee the former president’s specific actions and gestures that day.
“Take Me to the Capitol”
According to this young woman, Donald Trump attempted to take the wheel of the President’s car from a Secret Service officer in order to mingle with his supporters. “I’m the damn President, take me to the Capitol right now,” he allegedly tried to grab the officer’s collar, Cassidy Hutchinson, the president’s deputy chief of staff, reported. “Sir, you have to take your hand off the wheel, we’re going to the White House,” the policeman would have replied.
“Things could get really, really serious on January 6th”
This young woman also provided disturbing details about what the American executive branch knew about the looming violence. Including a conversation she allegedly had with Donald Trump’s chief of staff, Mark Meadows, four days before the attack on the US Congress. “Things could get really, really bad on January 6,” he said. “I remember feeling fear and awe for the first time that night,” she said.

The parliamentary committee revealed that several people in the human tide marching on the Capitol were heavily armed, information relayed to Donald Trump at the time. “I don’t care if they’re armed, they’re not here to hurt me,” the president reportedly replied minutes before inviting them “to go to the Capitol,” said Ms Hutchinson, who has distanced herself the Trump fog.
