Each time, it was quarterback Cody Fajardo, who would be number one the next season, who found him in the end zone.

“Cody and I are starting to hit it off and I can’t wait to see what’s ahead,” Mack said after the game, according to comments on the Alouettes’ website.

The first touchdown for Mack, a 25-year-old rookie who attended Ohio State University before briefly playing in the NFL with the New York Giants, came from under 10 yards while the receiver caught a 37-yard pass to get the second.

Healthy Fajardo

Although head coach Jason Maas has taken good note of Mack’s ability, he remains optimistic against Fajardo as well.

“He’s healthy and it’s great to see,” Maas said of the veteran quarterback. The way he moves, the way he throws, he’s in top form and I’m very excited.”

“He’s more comfortable with receivers,” added the coach.

Fajardo completed 11 passes on 14 attempts during intrasquad play for a total of 154 yards through the air, two touchdowns and one interception.
