“We’re going to have some homes in our county completely demolished,” Deputy Sheriff Scott Gibbons said.
The National Weather Service (NWS) found a home with damage from an EF3 tornado near Cole, a rural town of 600 people. An EF3 is the thirdstrongest tornado on the Enhanced Fujita scale, with winds up to 165 mph (265 km/h).
Also in Cole, two people emerged unharmed after escaping the storm by taking cover in a shaft, according to KFORTV. It is estimated that up to 100 houses were destroyed in the region.
