Biden warns Netanyahu against resistance to Rafah offensive without “protection” from civilians

The President of the United States, Joe Biden, warned this Thursday in a new telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that he rejects an offensive in the city of Rafah, in the Gaza Strip, without regard to the safety of the civilian population.

“The President (…) reiterated his position that a military operation should not be carried out without a credible and implementable plan to ensure the protection and support of the civilian population in Rafah,” the White House read out the telephone conversation.
