Blogger walks into Gordon Ramsey’s restaurant and punches him: “I spent 140 euros and drank tap water”

THE restaurants From Gordon Ramsey again cause controversy. Food blogger Ben Arnold, journalist for the Manchester Evening News (MEN), decided to visit the chef’s latest eatery and was very disappointed. “120 pounds at dinner to drink tap water,” Arnold said.

The points of criticism include, in addition to the Prices high, there would also be reduced portions of the dishes and the manners of the people working there, who do not always seem to spoil the customers: “Food in Chinatown is better,” explained the journalist.

New Year’s Eve 2022 at Gordon Ramsey’s, the dinner menu is already ready: here are the courses (and how much it costs)

Gordon Ramsey opens his third London restaurant: here’s where it will be and how much it will cost

Lucky Cat is the restaurant that opened on King Street in Manchester in early July and bears the signature of one of the most critically acclaimed chefs in the world. The restaurant is in a huge building, the former Midland Bank, which still has vaults and lockers in the basement.

High prices, such as a lobster for 100 euros or a Wagyu sirloin for 120 euros, is certainly one of the main reasons why Gordon Ramsey is not held in high regard in the hospitality industry and by many citizens, both Italians and non-Italians . It is no coincidence that the chef has put together a menu on weekdays that is valid from noon to 6.30 p.m. and costs around 40 euros and includes three courses.

Still, food blogger Ben Arnold decided to try the Lucky Cat dinner experience first-hand, and was deeply disappointed: “It all started with salted and peppered squid, served with a sprinkling of malt vinegar.” It’s a generous bowl and the squid is soft. The crumbs that cover them, however, are hot and flavorful. This is followed by a plate of aubergine and cabbage dumplings dressed with sesame oil and black vinegar. There are five of them, which could lead to a fight if there were two of you. Top it off with a garlic fried chili crunch. The filling could use a bit more seasoning, but they’re homemade and taste great.

The i count “savory”

And he continued: “Scallops … there are hardly two, one is a little smaller than the other and the dish costs £27.” The only conclusion that can be drawn from this is that Gordon is out there, the knife between them teeth, and personally advocates for them. Three servings would save us a bit of the effort».

Adding a drink to the list of dishes, which according to the journalist “appears more like a tasting”, increases the price. In other words: Arnold completely failed.

The bill alone for the journalist who drank “water that looked like tap water” was 140 euros: “For the same price you could eat four times at Mr Hong’s on Faulkner Street (Chinatown).” Even if it was without frills, you will still be completely satisfied.”
