La Paz, February 1 (Prensa Latina) Bolivian Minister of Hydrocarbons and Energy Franklin Molina today reassured that petrol supplies at gas stations in Santa Cruz and the rest of the country are normal.
“First of all, I would like to draw attention to those irresponsible people who use social networks and some media to create vulnerability in the population. The supply is normal and when there is misinformation, people go to the gas stations,” he told journalistic media.
The headline urged the population to calm down and criticized the political aspirations of some people who seek to stoke speculation.
“Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales de Bolivia (YPFB) supplies fuels such as diesel and gasoline – Molina reiterated – the supply is normal and these reduction claims are unfounded and false.”
Recalling that this is not the first time that the population has been misinformed about hydrocarbons, the minister stressed that at the end of 2022, during the strike with violent blockades in Santa Cruz, false news was spread on the subject, worrying the population and produce destabilization.
For his part, national vice president of YPFB Operations, Miguel Ángel Colque, insisted there was no need to queue at gas stations in the eastern capital or the rest of the Plurinational State.
“Fuel deliveries are usually made in the departments of Santa Cruz, La Paz, Cochabamba and the rest of the country. The average volume available at national level will be respected,” he specified.
In statements to Prensa Latina, the Executive Director of the National Agency for Hydrocarbons, Germán Jiménez, pointed out that the minister of the sector and YPFB confirmed that there was no problem with the supplies and that the institution he directs is therefore carrying out the appropriate follow-up. from a regulatory point of view.
