It’s her prerogative.
An explosive trailer was released on Monday for an upcoming TV special that will explore the life of Britney Spears just 1½ years after her conservatorship was suspended.
The special, titled TMZ Investigates: Britney Spears: The Price of Freedom, will reportedly give viewers a glimpse into the 41-year-old pop star’s marriage to Sam Ashgari, a failed intervention, her family and more.
“Britney Spears has had a year and a half since she left conservatoire, but there are big issues,” says narrator and TMZ Executive Producer Harvey Levin at the beginning of the trailer.
The clips in the 30-second trailer are revealing, with TMZ editor-in-chief Fabian Garcia claiming Spears “got involved with Sam,” while Levin claims their marriage is in “big trouble.”
In addition, the special will explore how Spears spends each day and “reveals concern among those closest to her that she poses a danger to herself and others,” according to a press release.
Charles Latibeaudiere, executive producer of TMZ and one of the hosts of the special, can even be heard making an “alarming” observation that they recommended “keeping knives away from her.”
TV documentary maker Drew Pinsky also stars in the trailer, proclaiming, “I’m ashamed.”

The Post has reached out to Spears’ reps for comment.
However, the in-depth program does have one notable potential silver lining – her career.
The trailer noted that singing gave it “hope” for her future and that she was “probably still in the top five” when it came to the performer.
The hour-long special is slated to premiere Monday, May 15 at 9 p.m. Eastern Time on Fox.
It will also be available on Hulu and Fox Entertainment’s streaming platform Tubi.
In recent years, Spears has endured her fair share of hardships and victories — including the end of her 13-year conservatorship, which was suspended in November 2021.
A conservatory is a legal process whereby someone is appointed by a court to take control of the decisions made regarding your finances and personal affairs, according to Forbes.

It is often introduced when someone is seen as unable to make these decisions themselves, even if incapacitated.
Spears was first placed in a conservatory in 2008 by her now-estranged father, Jamie Spears, following her 2007 breakdown.
After a long struggle and the heat of a February 2021 documentary, she appeared in court in June 2021, making bombshell allegations about her life over the past 13 years.
The “Toxic” singer claimed her restorers “abused” and “bullied” her.
She also claimed that they forced her to take birth control even though she wanted to get married and have a baby with then-boyfriend Sam Ashgari.

Her father later agreed to step down as her conservator and petitioned to end it in September 2021.
Spears has since married her longtime boyfriend Ashgari in a ceremony in June 2022.
She also signed a $15 million book deal with Simon & Schuster in February 2022
However, in recent months, she has raised some concerns among fans and those close to her.
It was rumored last winter by TMZ that those around her were worried she was “dying” and that they were planning an intervention.
The outlet claimed the pop star was “struggling with her mental health and substance abuse.”
She later tore up those claims, writing on Instagram, “It sickens me that it’s even legal to make up stories that I almost died.”

Several Instagram posts also worried fans about her.
In March, she sold her home in Calabasas, California, at a $1.7 million loss.
She also recently shed her wedding ring on a vacation to Puerto Rico in April, sparking split rumors between her and Ashgari.
