Burlon celebrates 10 years of County of Milan on the Jacobs Adnkronos runway

“Life is so short you can’t even waste a day”. Marcelo Burlon’s show begins with these words and the symbol of peace printed on an oversized white sweatshirt celebrating 10 years of “County of Milan” choosing to do big things by competing at the Vigorelli Velodrome in Milan , the temple of music and sport. where Fausto Coppi set the hour record in the 1940s and where legends like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and The Clash played. And indeed, Olympic 100m champion Marcell Jacobs appears on the catwalk wearing blue dungarees, a color dear to the Argentinian designer and cherished by Burlon himself. Applause and admiring looks are not spared.

The collection is a hymn to freedom: on the long catwalk, erected at the edge of the catwalk, some of the designer’s iconic pieces lie wide open: t-shirts and sweatshirts with colored chests, paisley suits and wide trousers, more animal accents and Tie-dye, all-over denim and “shamanic” influences hinted at by ponchos worn bare-chested, patchwork or with characteristic South American motifs that Burlon has made its own stylistic signature over the years. The collection is rounded off by denim sarong pants, overalls and oversized bomber jackets. (by Federica Mochi)
