The Saudi Arabian-backed LIV Golf Tour has stirred much emotion over the past two weeks as several great golfers have joined the tour and earned bans from all PGA Tour events.

Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Sergio Garcia and Bryson Dechambeau are just a few of the golfers who raked in LIV’s massive payday and sparked controversy in the golfing world.

On Friday, NBA Hall of Famer and TNT basketball analyst Charles Barkley left the drama behind and told The Pat McAfee Show that he was rooting for chaos at the US Open.

“I want all the LIV guys to be at the top of the rankings,” Barkley said when asked about this weekend’s US Open. “I want to see the PGA Tour shake in their damn boots. Listen, I’m not a religious guy, but I want chaos at the US Open this weekend.”

Barkley went on to say he wasn’t judging the golfers who chose to take the money, and joked with McAfee about the huge amounts of money being thrown around.

“I don’t judge other people,” Barkley said. “Listen, if someone gave me $200 million, I would kill a relative.”

“I’m serious. They said Phil Mickelson got $200 million and Dustin Johnson got $150 million. For $150 million I would kill a relative, even one I like!”

Although the PGA Tour has suspended golfers who chose LIV Golf, those golfers can play at the US Open in Brookline, MA because the tournament is hosted by the USGA.

Though LIV golfers will be allowed to play at the 2022 US Open, USGA CEO Mike Whan said that could change in the future.

“I could see a day ahead,” Whan told ESPN on Wednesday. “Do I know what this day looks like? No I do not know. To be honest what we are talking about [LIV Golf] was different two years ago and two months ago it was different than today. We’ve been doing this for 127 years, I think [the USGA] gotta look at this over the long term and see where these things go. So we’re not going to be a knee-jerk reaction to what we’re doing.”

Four LIV golfers made the cut at the US Open, including Johnson and Dechambeau.
