Although filming of “Indefensible” ended with the announcement of the death of criminal lawyer Richard Dubé, the actors and team of the popular legal series experienced the shock wave together.

“He was someone I really liked. I was able to attend the funeral service; a grand ceremony modeled after his example. We felt a lot of love from people. I think he surrounded himself with loving people because he was someone who loved others,” explained the actor, whom Le Journal met at the rehearsal for the show “Aux grand mals les grands redes” (in which four actors with great emotions Speeches given by personalities who… have shaped history) at the Gesù in Montreal.

The 56-year-old actor describes the criminalist and creator of the series as a very open, intelligent man and a deeply humane person. It was the interpreter of Me André Lapointe, Michel Laperrière, who spoke on behalf of the Indéfendable team during the ceremony held on January 19 at the Church of the Purification of the Virgin Mary in Repentigny.

A life-changing role

“It's really the pivotal role, the most important role in my career. “The surprising thing is that he's a character who can be unpleasant, and yet I feel like people attach themselves to this character because they see that he's not an inherently evil being,” the one who told me lends his facial features to Frédéric Legrand, a character who makes bad decisions.

He confirms that this role is now being talked about everywhere.

“This character has absolutely changed my life and I'm very lucky,” added the actor, who was only supposed to be part of the series for three months.

“First he really had to die. But over time, they realized that the character had an impact, that people loved him and the storylines he was in. They decided to bring me back. It was a wonderful gift.”

We remember that his character, who was supposedly “dead”, finally came back to life.

To great evils, great speeches

As for Me Legrand, he confirms that the impression that viewers have had for several episodes is well founded.

“We can see where things are going. He has a passion for Jessica and it's certain that it won't end well. The difference from the first season is that this time he doesn't go head first. He will always have a struggle within him because he is still looking for redemption, but he is still drawn and trapped by his old demons. This is the fight we will see in the second part of the season.”

The actor only has good words for his fellow actors Sébastien Delorme and Anne-Elisabeth Bossé. “We laugh a lot on set, they are professional, very funny and kind-hearted people, people I really like, we have a very, very good team. “It's a joy,” he said.
