The province with the highest abstention was Santiago de los Caballeros where out of a total of 502,683 registered people, only 160,566 exercised their right to vote, which corresponds to 68 percent, followed by the national district Only 335,994 out of a total of 918,021 eligible voters went to the polls, which corresponds to an abstention rate of 63.4%.
