The snow removal operation started by the City of Montreal on Tuesday will continue in all boroughs on Thursday.
Priority has been given to main boulevards, public transport and bus lanes to make it easier for Montrealers to travel on the road network.
The snow loading went differently well, depending on the districts in which the work progressed differently.
While the municipality of L’Île-Bizard-Sainte-Geneviève lagged behind the previous day, it reached a snow load of 76%, followed by Lachine with a rate of 71%.
According to the Info-Neige website, collection was 66% complete in Anjou district, 59% complete in Pierrefonds-Roxboro and 52% complete in Rivière-des-Prairies-Pointe-aux-Trembles.
In other districts, however, the snow loading work was progressing slowly on Thursday around 6 a.m.
This is the case, for example, in the Plateau-Mont-Royal and Outremont districts, which recorded progress rates of 30% and 23%, respectively.
Almost 8,000 free parking spaces are available to drivers, as the city of Montreal also announced on its website.
The city of Montreal has mobilized almost 2,200 snow removal vehicles for the operation, which affects around 10,000 kilometers of streets, sidewalks and bike paths.
