American country singer Dave Fenley is so grateful for the love of Quebecers that he decided to record several concerts here to produce an album entitled Live from Quebec, he revealed it Newspaper.
The idea hadn't occurred to him when he walked into Quebec's Salle Albert-Rousseau last November for the biggest show of his career. When Dave Fenley realized the magnitude of his evening, he immediately had an album project in mind: “Live from Quebec.”
“When I entered the room I felt something incredibly powerful; I knew it would be a great show, so I asked my sound engineer to record it,” says the man who first caught the attention of Quebecers during his appearance on the show En direct de l universe at the end of 2022.
The 1,400 spectators in attendance were treated to an excellent show by Dave Fenley at this performance. Sometimes touching, as when the singer's wife and young daughter took the stage for the ballad “Till You,” sometimes more lively, especially during a pop-country medley, the resulting album will be a complete and varied album.
Five more shows of the tour were then recorded to ensure flawless production of this album, which is scheduled to be released in the spring before the Texan's next Quebec tour begins.
“Quebec is forever in my heart”
Before Dave Fenley was discovered by Lise Dion, who is now his show producer at Productions 6e Sens, and before she shared her discovery with the producers of En direct de l'univers, he tried as best he could to find a place in the huge American Country market.
With two EPs and two albums before entering Quebec, as well as his participation on The Voice and America's Got Talent, the American artist has really gained his confidence in the province of La Belle.
“[La province de] In Quebec I was able to convince myself that what I was doing was good enough and that people wanted to see my shows […] I don’t know how my career will develop in the United States, but Quebec will remain in my heart forever.”
Next month Dave Fenley will complete his American tour with performances in Texas, Idaho and Michigan. He will then begin his journey on Quebec soil in L'Assomption on April 24th, before heading to Montreal on May 30th and June 1st and to Quebec on June 7th and 8th.
“Who knows, maybe we’ll do a Live from Quebec Volume 2 with the new tour,” says the Texan at the end of his interview with Le Journal.
