Ukraine continues to chain successes in its counteroffensive: Last night Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the recapture of the strategic city of Izium. The Russian army announces this morning that it will bombard the lost territories.
• After talks with Parliament, King Charles III will travel to Edinburgh, Scotland, where Elizabeth II’s coffin arrived yesterday. It will be on display to the public for 24 hours in a cathedral in the city.

06:34: Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleg Nikolenko condemned these Russian attacks on the power grid as “an act of desperation after Russia’s immense losses and retreat into eastern Ukraine”.
06:31: Breaking news, last night power was restored to part of the eastern regions of Ukraine affected by a major power outage. According to the regional governor, this recovery was partial in the Kharkiv region, the scene of the most important Ukrainian victories in recent days. He claims an employee was killed in a Russian attack on a power plant in the region.
