Eagles finalize coaching staff under Nick Sirianni for 2024 NFL season – NBC Sports Philadelphia

The Eagles announced their entire coaching staff for the 2024 season on Friday, with numerous changes following a disastrous end to last season.

While we already knew about many of the changes to Nick Sirianni's staff – including new coordinators Vic Fangio and Kellen Moore – many new highlights were released on Friday. While the defense is almost completely turned over, several offensive coaches remain.

Here's a complete look at the 2024 coaching staff:

New trainers

Vic Fangio, defensive coordinator
Kellen Moore, offensive coordinator
Christian Parker, passing game coordinator/defender
Clint Hurtt, senior defensive assistant/defensive line
Roy Anderson, cornerbacks
Joe Kasper, security
Bobby King, inside linebacker
Doug Nussmeier, quarterbacks
Kyle Valero, offensive assistant

Remarks:

• The Eagles had inexperienced coordinators in 2023 after the departures of Shane Steichen and Jonathan Gannon, promoting Brian Johnson and hiring Sean Desai. Both have now disappeared in favor of people who previously held coordinator positions. Fangio in particular has a lot of experience as a DC and HC.

•The only new offensive line coach is Nussmeier, who came with Moore as a package deal after working with him in Dallas and Los Angeles. He will coach Jalen Hurts and the QBs. He has previously worked with Dak Prescott and Justin Herbert.

• On defense, we already knew about Parker, Hurtt, Kasper and King. Anderson, meanwhile, spent last season as the defensive backs coach in Seattle, where he worked under Hurtt, the DC. Before last season in Seattle, Anderson spent a few seasons with Minnesota and before that with LSU. He coached the Colts' safeties from 2012 to 2015. It was originally reported that former Seahawks passing game coordinator Karl Scott would be coming in for the position, but he remained in Seattle and the Eagles hired Anderson instead.

• It is worth noting that the structure of the secondary school is slightly different this year. The Eagles have a DBs coach/passing game coordinator in Parker (who worked under Fangio in Denver) and then two position coaches under him. There is no designated nickels coach like there was last season under Desai.

Returning Coaches

Nick Sirianni, head coach
Michael Clay, special teams coordinator
Jemal Singleton, running backs/assistant head coach
Kevin Patullo, passing game coordinator/associate head coach
Jeff Stoutland, Run Game Coordinator/Offensive Line
Jason Michael, tight ends
Aaron Moorehead, wide receiver
Jeremiah Washburn, defensive ends/outside linebacker
Joe Pannunzio, assistant special teams coordinator
Tyler Brown, special teams assistant
Eric Dickerson, Offensive Quality Control

Remarks:

• It's remarkable how many offensive players stay together. The only coaches leaving that side of the ball are Johnson, Marcus Brady, Roy Istvan and Alex Tanney. The Eagles retained Patullo, Stoutland, Singleton, Michael and Moorehead. So it's the bulk of Sirianni's offensive staff, but a new system and a new playmaker in Moore.

• The only major position coach remaining on defense is Washburn, who will once again coach the overhang players. Washburn assumed that role in 2022. He is a coach the Eagles are raving about both for his coaching ability and his history on the player staff.

• It's no surprise the Eagles bounce back with their three special teams coaches. That was the one area of the team in 2023 that wasn't a disappointment. Clay has even received a contract extension since the end of the season.

Returned coaches with new titles

TJ Paganetti, Run Game Specialist/Assistant Offensive Line
Ronell Williams, Assistant Linebackers/Defensive Quality Control
Tyler Scudder, Defensive Quality Control
Tyler Yelk, head quality control officer

Remarks:

• Williams was the Eagles' nickels coach last season but will take the assistant linebackers coach position in 2023. He appears to be a coach the Eagles would like to find a spot for. The Chester, Pennsylvania native is here to stay.

• Paganetti enters his 10th season with the Eagles and will replace Istvan. He has won a lot of different titles in these seasons.

• Scudder is in his fourth season with the Eagles. He joined the Eagles as an assistant coach and was an assistant linebackers coach last year.

• Yelk held the title of assistant head coach and is now head coach of quality control. He previously trained in places like Idaho, Temple, Northern Illinois and South Dakota.
