Ed Sheeran has revealed that Eminem helped him ‘cure’ his stutter as a child.
During an appearance on The Howard Stern Show on Wednesday (10May23), the British singer-songwriter revealed that his uncle gave him the rapper’s 2000 LP ‘The Marshall Mathers’ when he was nine. Rapping to music eventually led to him stuttering less, although he was seeing a speech therapist often at the time.

“[My uncle]just said to my dad, ‘This guy is the next Bob Dylan. You have to let him listen.’ And listening to that record and rapping it non-stop cured my stutter,” he said.
Ed Sheeran also noted that he had become friends with Eminem over the past few years and told him how he eventually overcame his speech impediment.
“I think it’s different with Eminem because he’s pretty reclusive and doesn’t see or meet a lot of people. I’ve known him for six years now and we did three songs together. I played with him twice on stage. “He’s another person that I can really relate to because he still lives in his hometown and has his ecosystem around him,” the 32-year-old star explained, noting that he jumped at the chance when Stan to sing alongside the hip-hop star He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year.
“I remember getting the call about it. I’ve done… 14 music videos in a row… and that was the day I hadn’t done any music videos, and I was like, ‘I can’t say no, I can’t do that’ on the sequel. So right after my music video I took a plane, flew there to see the song and then came back in the evening. It was really worth it.”
