El Salvador is developing tourism with the support of the IDB

The country's strategy, outlined by the Minister of Tourism, Morena Valdez, envisages the development of the sector in the aforementioned region and aims to reach more than four million visitors in the coming years.

According to IDB data, the 25 million investment will improve tourism infrastructure, increase employment by 10,000 and triple tax revenue in Surf City I and Jiquilisco Bay.

The plans include improvements to sanitation systems, drinking water, modernization of information technologies, human talent training and sustainability programs in two development poles, Surf City I in La Libertad and Jiquilisco Bay in Usulutan.

Regarding these investments, the Minister of Tourism pointed out that with partners such as the IDB, the country is managing to achieve its tourism goals. “With the support of the IDB, we have promoted and developed tourism in our country. Thank you for the trust and for becoming a strategic partner for El Salvador,” he emphasized.
