The mother-of-three kept her tresses loose and wavy as she wore an exquisite pair of gold hoop earrings costing £60 from Spells of Love.

The Duchess isn’t the only famous Spell of Love fan, with Kendall Jenner wearing the same “Alia” earrings at a basketball game last year.

Yesterday the couple visited Blaenavon Hwb, a community-focused youth centre, Kate, who is an avid baker, took a look at William’s attempts to make Welsh pastries and they also played a game of billiards.

She went to the oven and effortlessly started helping with cooking and turning the cakes on to the stove while talking to 16-year-old Lyby.

After William started rolling the dough and cutting it out, he told the group gathered around him: “I’m under a lot of pressure here.

‘Don’t judge my cooking, it can go horribly wrong. Where is Mary (Berry) when you need her?

When the Duchess asked to see her husband’s efforts, she pointed to the subtlety of his cakes.

‘This guy’s a bit skinny,’ William admitted, before looking at them again and adding: ‘They’re probably all a bit skinny.’

The royal couple are visiting Wales to learn about the importance of the farming industry to the rural population and how community organisations provide support to young people while celebrating the region’s history.

During the visit, the couple also revealed how they are engaging their children with farming, revealing the couple on a day out in Wales to mark St David’s Day.

The future Prince and Princess of Wales visited a goat farm in Llanvetherine, near Abergavenny, and shared how Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have helped their animals through their half-year.

The family is believed to be in Norfolk, where the Prince of Wales is working to turn the Queen’s Sandringham estate into a fully organic operation.

During a day spent in the Welsh valleys, the couple tried to make traditional Welsh pastries in a community center, but the future king told young people watching: “Don’t judge my cooking…”

As they toured Pant Farm, where Gary and Jess Yeomans, both 50, have been producing goat’s milk, which has been supplying a local cheese maker for the past two decades, William spotted a silage-sillating robot in one of the barns.

Gary explained that it could also be used to move fodder, and the Duchess replied: ‘That was George’s job at half-time – moving fodder.’

William told his hosts that the children had taken part in the farm, adding: ‘We are also trying agro forestry.’

The method involves planting crops between rows of trees to provide healthier soil, higher yields and vital wildlife homes.

The Duke studied agricultural management at the University of Cambridge in 2014, but it seems the Duchess also has farming in her veins.

Kate told her hosts: ‘I was looking at my lineage and there was someone who was raising goats of a rare breed. I’m going to have to find out who she was. It was right after The First World War.

William also commented on the pair’s new sporting rivalry following Wales’ narrow defeat by England in the Six Nations on Saturday, where Kate, as patron of England rugby, triumphed over her husband, patron of the Welsh Rugby Union.

“Today, however, he wears a Welsh scarf,” the Duke said. “It’s a good family rivalry.”

Gary told him: “George will have to come to your side.”

“Don’t worry,” William replied. —He’s already there.

Shake from “Love Is Blind” says he “does not regret” the way he treated Deepti

Abhishek Shake Chatherjee bared his feelings – and his chest.

Warning: Spoilers for season 2 of “Love is Blind” below.

The “Love is Blind” star responds to reaction to Netflix season 2 behavior hit Instagram on Tuesday. In the video, Chatterjee without a shirt says he does not regret any of his actions.

“I’m not sorry,” he said. “I’m not sorry! I think I handled the situation as well as anyone in my situation could.

Chatterjee received a lot of criticism for the way he treats Deepti Vempati in the popular reality show from fans and Vempati’s own family.

The two met in a pod in the series, where no one could see the other, but they could talk through a wall. Chatterjee made derogatory comments about women’s bodies at the beginning of his courtship with Vempati. But she hurried to shout his shallow remarks, and Chatterjee apologized. After that, the two seem to have built a strong emotional bond and eventually got engaged unnoticed.

When the couple finally met face to face, Chatterjee showered Vempati with compliments on her appearance and even squeezed her ass.

Soon after their initial meeting, however, Chatterjee began to tell everyone he met – including his mother … The day she met his future bride – that he didn’t find Vempati physically attractive. Yet he did not seem to express his lack of “animalistic” lust for Vempati herself until just before they were married. Eventually, Vempati broke up with Chatterjee at the altar because he felt he didn’t love her completely. Vempati left their ceremony in tears as an optimistic Chatterjee called on her guests and her to celebrate their seeming separation.

“I mentioned earlier that there are certainly things I want to work on for myself and improve,” Chatterjee said in his Instagram video on Tuesday. “But one thing I don’t feel inclined to do is pretend to be sad or sorry for some things – some things that were out of my control, some things I don’t even have to talk about.

Chatterjee added that he would focus on “living his best life” in the future.

“You don’t have to like me,” he said. “Only I have to like me, thankfully.”

What do critics think of Dark Knight’s new film?

Robert Pattinson starred in Batman.

Warner Bros.

Batman has taken many forms on the big screen, from goofy and suffocating to polite and rude. Matt Reeves’ Batman introduces the audience to a new iteration of the Dark Knight – emo.

The film, which hits theaters on Friday, has provoked mixed reactions from critics. Some praised the nearly three-hour film as a deconstruction of the superhero genre, others found it a grim stunt.

Warner Bros. “Batman” skips the death of Bruce Wayne’s parents, the spark that inevitably leads the young billionaire on his way to becoming Batman. Set in the hero’s second year as a masked crime fighter, the film follows the vigilant as he tries to catch a serial killer who targets corrupt officials in Gotham.

The standalone feature does not reconnect to other movies in DC Extended Universe.

Robert Pattinson wears a hoodie, with Zoe Kravitz playing Selina Kyle, also known as Catwoman, and Paul Dano terrorizing as Riedler. Other cast members include Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot, also known as the Penguin.

The Batman currently has a 86% Rotten Tomatoes rating of 217 reviews. Here’s what critics think of the film ahead of Friday’s theatrical debut:

Bilge Ebiri, vulture

Unlike previous iterations of the comic book character, there is little difference between Bruce Wayne and his alter ego Batman in Reeves’ film, writes Bildy Ebiri in his review of Vulture.

The film does not spend much time on Bruce’s struggle with double life. Here, the billionaire is a thoughtful hermit who rarely appears in public, unlike other adaptations that portray him as a playboy or a common businessman.

“Robert Pattinson’s Batman enters so carefully, so quietly in most of his scenes in Matt Reeves’ Batman,” that you sometimes wonder if he’s not meant to be more of a ghost than a superhero, “Ebiri writes. “… Pattinson is tall, handsome, with straps, but he plays Bruce Wayne with such overwhelmed, sad despair that his body is practically concave when he’s not in a bat suit.”

The film also rethinks the typical superhero trope of subtle similarities between good and bad. It was discovered here, Ebiri wrote.

“Reeves shoots Batman in pursuit of his targets with the same psychotic, hard-breathing aesthetics he shoots Ridler,” he said. “Now we have to try to understand how the hero differs from the villain – as well as Batman.”

Eli Glasner, CBC News

To many critics, Batman seems to be a cross between Saw, Seven and Zodiac. This is a film that deals with several genres: horror, thriller, noir, but feels limited by its PG-13 rating.

Riddler terrorizes the rich and powerful Gotham with murderous traps, happily enjoying his work, leaving mysterious clues about the masked watchman of the city.

However, “so much of this is about the value of the shock rather than something really scary,” Eli Glasner wrote in a review for CBC news. “Batman is handcuffed from his family-friendly PG rating, resulting in something like Disney +” Saw. “

Christy Puchko, Mashable

“It’s time for Batman to get an appropriate R-rated film,” wrote Christie Pucco in her review of Batman for Mashable.

With Batman. screenwriter / director Matt Reeves partnered with Robert Pattinson to turn once again on the iconic superhero, “she writes.” But without the freedom that R-rating allows, this film – full of threat and murder – feels toothless. “

For Puchko, one of the film’s biggest flaws was how he used Kravitz as Catwoman.

“Zoe Kravitz’s natural charisma is stifled in a role that makes her mainly laugh and spin while wearing skin,” she wrote.

Puchko noted that the chemistry between Catwoman and Batman lacks “spiciness”, pale in comparison to the sexual tension between Michael Keaton and Michelle Pfeiffer in 1992’s “Batman Returns”.

“Their forbidden romance feels more necessary than won or authentically lustful,” she wrote.

Katie Walsh, Tribune News

“On paper, Batman is a standard Batman story: he fights Gotham crime, confronts Ridler and the Penguin, and gets involved with Catwoman,” Katie Walsh wrote in a review of the Tribune News Service. “It’s basically Batman through The Godfather and The Zodiac, a serial killer mystery mixed with a mob movie. clown petty criminals from Gotham. “

With cameraman Greig Fraser (“Dune”), Reeves’ “Batman” has a unique aesthetic – a rain-soaked black-and-red palate with neon highlights. Walsh called the film “excitingly composed and illuminated,” noting that his style works with history, not against it.

Batman also has a new aesthetic in Reeves’ film.

“We’ve had a lot of Batmans, from the polite (Michael Keaton) to the funny (George Clooney), the stupid (Adam West) to the rude (Christian Bale), from the glamorous (Val Kilmer) to the lazy (Ben Affleck),” Walsh said. this Batman … is our goth Bruce Wayne, a more disgruntled young man than a billionaire playboy, and that allows Reeves as a director to play with all sorts of dirty characters and as a writer to fight the real function of Batman. “

“This is a necessary interrogation that offers a revealing twist on this famous character,” she said.

Maxim Chmerkovsky returns to the United States from Ukraine, reunites with Peta

Maxim Chmerkovsky returned safely to the United States.

The alumni of Dancing With the Stars – who posted updates on social media from his native Ukraine amid the Russian invasion – reunited emotionally with his wife, Peta Murgatroyd, at Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday.

The two shared a long, sweet hug at the airport terminal, as seen in photos taken by paparazzi.

Margatroyd, 35, previously asked Instagram fans to pray for her husband’s safe return.

“I don’t usually ask these things from my social media network, but it’s extremely difficult today, and the next few will be even more difficult,” she wrote last week.

“My pain is insurmountable and I am struggling, but sending my positive light and love to him would mean the world to me. I really don’t want anything more. “

Margatroyd continued, urging fans to “please ask him to come home soon.”

“Please pray for a quick and safe way out. I have faith. I have HOPE and I PRAYED so hard, “she added. “Please pray for Ukraine and the lives of innocent civilians are severely eradicated. I have loved this country several times and I have been in an inexplicable situation. ”

As previously reported by Six, the 42-year-old Chmerkovsky was abroad to serve as a judge for the Ukrainian version of World of Dance, while Margatroyd was in Los Angeles with their 5-year-old son Shay.

The former mirror ball champion began posting videos from Ukraine amid the invasion and continued to document his journey as he tried to escape.

“[There’s] many battles everywhere. The streets are crazy. At one point I was arrested. … But everything is fine, I promise, “Chmerkovski said in one of his videos. “This was probably the least traumatic moment in all this work for Ukraine, but for me it was a test of reality.

On Monday, Chmerkovsky shared another update, informing fans that he was able to arrive safely “by train” from Ukraine and arrived in Poland.

“We are going to Warsaw (I hope). A train to Lviv was not an option. The situation at the station is insane, “he explained. “It feels manageable at first, but it gets MUCH worse when it comes time to get on the train.”

Elliott himself proves that The Power of the Dog ate in a homophobic noise

The actor opposed the revelation of the myth of American masculinity by Jane Campion, proving that sexism is alive and well.

[Editor’s note: The following post contains some spoilers for “The Power of the Dog.”]

Elliott himself, an actor who has built a career in westerns celebrating American masculinity, has spoken out against The Power of the Dog, a film that challenges the way westerns celebrate American masculinity. While his latest comments on Mark Marron’s “WTF Podcast” smell of sexism and homophobia, the irony of his wild tirade is that he basically understands the meaning of the film – almost.

Directed by Jane Campion (later directed by Elliott), The Power of the Dog uses Western form to explore the suffocating ways in which expectations of masculinity harm the men charged with sustaining it. Judging by the sharp edge of his characteristic growl, Elliott is also a victim of these restrictive rules about masculinity, as evidenced by his aggressive spirit in unraveling it.

“Do you want to talk about this shit?” Elliott began his tirade before opposing an advertisement in the LA Times that celebrated the film as “gutting the American myth.”

“The gutting of the American West?” He continued. “They made him look like that – what are all those dancers like, these guys in New York, who wear bow ties and nothing else. “Do you remember them from the past?”

“That’s what all these fucking cowboys look like in this movie,” Elliott said. “They all run around with boys and no shirts. There are all these allusions to homosexuality in the whole fucking movie. ” Maron kindly intervenes again to blatantly state the obvious: “I think that’s what the movie is about.”

Based on Thomas Savage’s 1967 novel, The Power of the Dog follows two brothers, Phil (played by Benedict Cumberbatch) and George (Jesse Plemons), who live on a ranch in Montana. Although close in their youth, the growing distance between the two men intensified when George married the local widow Rose (Kirsten Dunst), who moved to the ranch with her teenage son Peter (Cody Smith-McPhee). From Phil’s first meeting with Peter, he highlighted the boy’s sleek gait and gentle demeanor as mature for ridicule, quick establishment of dominance, and imposition of the rules of masculinity.

“The power of the dog”

KIRSTY GRIFFIN / NETFLIX

Phil is a confusing and threatening presence for everyone in the house, and alcoholism affects Rose slowly and demandingly. Peter is harder to read, and his hatred of Phil is slowly giving way to curiosity in a magnificent slow burn. Peter begins to accompany the older cowboy on his daily duties on the ranch, watching and mastering each proudly taught lesson with meticulous rigor. In the end, the student outsmarts the teacher, playing a long boiling conspiracy to avenge his former bully after putting him to sleep in a false sense of brotherhood. The lessons of masculinity are passed on, and the next iteration twists it even more in much more sinister places.

While some viewers complained that Campion’s film downplayed the oddity that was more outspoken in Savage’s novel (the author, like Phil, was a closed gay man), it was obviously too much for Elliott. Although he carefully noted that he called Campion a “brilliant director”, he also opposed her photos in New Zealand.

“What the hell is this woman doing – she’s a brilliant director by the way, I love her job, her previous job – but what the hell does this woman from there, New Zealand, know about the American West?” Elliott said. “And why the hell is she making this movie in New Zealand and calling it Montana and saying, ‘That’s right.’

Now, Maron swears a lot in his podcast, that’s literally in the title. But putting this particular “What the hell” just before the derogatory statement of “this woman” screams misogyny. The fact that he doesn’t even say Campion’s name all the time energizes Major Donald Trump’s “This Michigan Woman.”

The Power of the Dog_Benedict-Cumberbatch_Cody-Smith-McPhee

Kirsty Griffin / Netflix

Aside from his not-so-veiled sexism, Elliott’s claim that Westerns should be filmed in the American West ignores the entire history of the genre, which he claims is such an expert. From the dusty landscapes of Spain, where so many spaghetti westerns have been shot, to Canada, which replaces Wyoming in Brokeback Mountain, filming in the American West outside of America has been a common practice for decades. In addition, the iconography of the American West has traveled the world to shape international cinema, from the influence of John Ford on Akira Kurosawa to the red westerns of the 1960s, produced by former Soviet countries.

With any luck, Sam Elliott is the latest dying way of thinking in Hollywood, who believes that women should stick to making films that do not challenge the status quo. “The Power of the Dog” is the most nominated film at the Oscars this year, with all four stars nominated in the acting categories, and Champion being the undisputed favorite for best director. This senseless tirade and the quick reaction it received from the film world could push voters to the fence in Campion’s camp.

This certainly proves that the slow-burning social commentary on The Power of the Dog still has a real bite.

Kim Kardashian resigns from West because judge rules she is single

Kim Kardashian is no longer Kim Kardashian West, a judge ruled on Wednesday as he granted her request for an official termination of her marriage to Kanye West as they continue to resolve the remaining issues in their divorce case.

Los Angeles County Supreme Court Justice Steve Cochran terminated Kardashian and West’s marital status during a hearing, so both are legally unmarried, according to court documents reviewed by BuzzFeed News.

In December, Kardashian filed a motion to separate the issue of her marriage to West (now legally known as Ye) from other unclear details in their divorce case. She filed a petition to terminate the relationship, with her lawyers saying “there is no reason to maintain”.

“Irresistible differences have led to the irreparable breakdown of the marriage and there is no way to save the marriage through counseling or other means,” Kardashian’s lawyers wrote. “The continued maintenance of the technical marital status between the applicant and the defendant has no useful purpose.”

In a statement declaring the request, Kardashian said that she and Ye “both deserve the opportunity to build new lives.” The documents include an additional request that the court restore Kimberly’s name to Kimberly Noel Kardashian. According to the Associated Press, this request was also granted.

The AP reported that during the hearing, Cochran asked Kardashian a series of yes or no questions, including “Did problems, disputes and differences cause your marriage to fall apart?” And “Is it your desire to be a lonely person?” before fulfilling her request. She answered “yes” to everyone.

Kardashian filed for divorce from Ye in February 2021. The former celebrity couple was legally married more than seven years before Wednesday’s ruling.
