This Wednesday the 21st, the travel platform Tripadvisor ranked the 25 best beaches in the world; Check out the position of Brazilian destinations!
Every year, travel website Tripadvisor lists the 25 best beaches in the world that receive the Travelers' Choice Award. This 2024, Ipanema Beach in Rio de Janeiro and Praia de Muro Alto in Porto de Galinhas, Pernambuco were added to the list.
Only these two Brazilian destinations are included in the ranking. Ipanema Beach ranked 17th and was recognized for the variety of activities on offer, including surfing, volleyball, beach bars and sunsets.
Praia de Muro Alto, in Pernambuco's Porto de Galinhas district, ranked 25th thanks to its peaceful surroundings, white sand, natural pools and wavefree waters, according to CNN Brasil.

Baía do Sancho in Fernando de Noronha, which took first place in the same rankings last year, was surpassed by Praia da Falésia in Portugal. This beach in the Olhos de Água region of Portugal is at the top of the 2024 list and is characterized by its cliffs, golden sand, blue waters and wide stretch of coastline. Baía do Sancho did not make the list of the best beaches in the world this year.
Dream destinations
Compared to South America, Brazil stands out with five beaches that are among the ten best in the region, according to Travelers' Choice. Ipanema and Muro Alto take first and second place, respectively.
In third place is Baía dos Golfinhos in Pipa in Rio Grande do Norte. Baía do Sancho in Fernando de Noronha and Praia do Espelho in Trancoso, Bahia are also among those selected.
Remember that Tripadvisor awards Travelers' Choice to destinations and locations that receive a large number of positive reviews and opinions from platform users over a 12month period.
