Fact box: Alberta wildfires shut out at least 2% of Canada’s energy production – Portal

May 8 (Portal) – Canada’s main oil-producing province Alberta declared a provincial emergency on Saturday due to wildfires, shutting down at least 185,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd), or about 2% of the country’s production.

Canadian natural gas exports to the United States fell to 6.7 billion cubic feet per day (bcfd) on Sunday, the lowest level since April 2021, according to Refinitiv data.
