Four people die in a hot air balloon accident in Arizona

Four people are dead and another is in critical condition after a hot air balloon crashed in the town of Eloy, Arizona.

Police were dispatched to the scene around 7:50 a.m. Sunday morning.

The exact cause of the incident is not yet known, Eloy police said in a news release.

“The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are on scene and have taken control of the investigation,” it said.

The identities of the victims were not released.

The town of Eloy is located 100 kilometers from Phoenix, considered the “skydiving capital” according to the New York Post.
The investigation continues to determine the circumstances that led to this incident.
