According to the French Ministry of Agriculture, Prime Minister Gabriel Attal will appear this Friday to make announcements and “concrete proposals for simplification measures”.

The country's main agricultural trade union representative, the National Federation of Farmers' Unions (Fnsea, the French acronym), announced the violent measure after presenting a document with the demands on Wednesday.

The main demands include an emergency fund for crisis sectors, the reduction of environmental controls and an economic compensation for the increase in fuel prices.

“The mobilization of farmers is historic: more than 55,000 of us demonstrated in all parts of France! Let us continue! Let's keep pushing, the government needs a strong awareness to take measures that meet our demands,” published the head of Fnsea, Arnaud Rousseau, on his X account.

The president of Jeunes Agriculteurs, Gaillot Arnaud, in turn pointed out that at the moment “the ball is in the government's court. We will see tomorrow whether it is acceptable or not.”

The blockade of the capital is called for 2 p.m. (local time) as unions insist to the executive on the need to remove obstacles so that French farmers can compete on equal terms with producers from other countries.
