Richard Turcotte will succeed Eve-Marie Lortie at the helm next autumn Hello hello weekendthe TVA morning show from Quebec.
As we know, Eve-Marie Lortie, who has been part of the Salut Bonjour family for 20 years, will replace Gino Chouinard in Montreal later this week. The announcement regarding Ms. Lortie was made last November. All this time we've been waiting to see what happens next regarding his successor in the Old Capital.

As far as we know, there were several candidates in the running to host the Salut Bonjour weekend.
Richard Turcotte, who has been a substitute at Salut Bonjour and the Salut Bonjour weekend, has more than 30 years of public experience. He is versatile and familiar with live broadcasts, which are his “daily bread”, and has experience as a radio and television presenter, but also as an actor, author, columnist, composer, speaker and director.
“When I found out, I jumped in the air. I was really happy. I've been part of the Hi-Hello family for a long time. I've substituted, I've done segments, I've been invited and it makes me very proud to become captain of this great team,” Richard Turcotte said during the on-set announcement Saturday morning.
TVA highlighted his “charity and great openness,” as well as his “intellectual curiosity” and “good humor,” which fit perfectly with the show’s DNA.
“He knows exactly the processes and requirements of accepting such a mandate and his leadership qualities, warm personality and listening skills made him an excellent candidate to succeed Eve-Marie Lortie. We warmly welcome him!” said Nathalie Fabien, Senior Director, Channels and Programming at TVA Group, in a press release.
Richard Turcotte also emphasized that what he particularly liked about the Salut Bonjour weekend was the variety and the solid team.
