Geolier, Capezzone pounces on the New Year's Eve video: “But we are stupid!”

The Geolier case is still at the center of television debates. After participating in the Sanremo Festival and the place that the rapper took in the final ranking of the event (second to Angelina Mango), the controversies prevailed. It was discussed again in Zona Bianca, the politics and current affairs show hosted by Giuseppe Brindisi. Does the 23-year-old's music glorify illegal lifestyles and invite violence? The discussion began with this question. For Daniele Capezzone, we must not forget an essential aspect. “He is free to do what he believes,” he said, referring to the young artist, but added: “We are also free not to be deceived.”

First of all, Libero's editorial director wanted to point out that Geolier works “for the most important record company Warner (Music Italy, editor's note)”. “Don’t tell us about the boy who redeemed himself. He is at the center of the work of an international major and makes money scientifically by focusing on a model,” emphasized Capezzone, ideally addressing the part of politics that has completely taken over the defense of the rapper. What role model does the 23-year-old show? For the journalist, it is the “Gomorrah model, which is praised and celebrated in his videos, in public communication and, until recently, in the private sector”.

The editorial director of Libero then returned to New Year's Eve 2022, when the rapper from Secondigliano invited a girl to the shoot in a video that appeared on social media. “What are we stupid? We have to have some discernment. We must not say that what is being proposed to us is okay. If you come up with the idea that a young man gets up at six in the morning to study or work is a fool, and instead they celebrate someone who starts shooting, but what message are we sending?” concluded the journalist.
