Gwyneth Paltrow has unveiled her new Goop skincare serum, which she says has “transformed” her skin – just days after she was criticized for flaunting her “horrible sun damage”.
In the clip released today, Paltrow spoke directly into the camera to answer a question that read, “I can’t believe you’re 50!” Why does your skin look so good? What is your secret?’
Responding with a bottle of serum in hand, she said, ‘If I could only recommend one product on Goop, it would definitely be our new peptide serum.’ That’s the one.’
Paltrow included a written caption, explaining, “It WAS a secret, but this weekend we’re finally launching our anti-aging superhero — and I’m giving you early access.”
“It’s a clean, clinically proven game changer that fights signs of premature aging.”
“The before and after are WILD and it really transformed my skin.”
In a testimonial on the product page for the $135 serum, Paltrow himself contributed, “After trying it for a week, I saw a noticeable difference in my skin, and the results only got better from there .”
“The before and after experience is pretty impressive to look at – the way it works on every skin type – and along with all the visible benefits, I also love how hydrating it is.”
The product itself claims to “take a 360-degree approach to targeting the key signs of aging — wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, texture, firmness, elasticity, radiance, barrier support and more.”
The Goop founder, 50, shared a series of snaps from her family trip on Instagram earlier this week – but one caught the attention of her followers for all the wrong reasons
Social media users immediately slammed the self-proclaimed health guru for the “horrible” condition of her cleavage and arms – both showing signs of sunspots
Earlier this month, Paltrow caused an uproar among her Instagram followers after revealing her “horrific sun damage” in a topless selfie during a getaway with husband Brad Falchuk.
Dozens of users commented on the apparent sunspots – many accusing the Goop founder of hypocrisy for flaunting such serious “damage” despite building an entire brand around the concept of health and wellness.
The areas of the body most prone to sun damage include the face, neck, chest, shoulders, forearms and hands.
These are typically more exposed to the sun and are often neglected when it comes to sun protection.
The early signs of skin damage are extensive, but also include sunburn, uneven skin tone, wrinkles and fine lines, dryness, and increased sensitivity.
