A winner of three BAFTAs for his work on the television series Cracker (19931996), Coltrane was also nominated for an Academy Award for British Cinema, one of which was for his performance in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
The Scot is also known for his work on the 007 franchise as Valentin Zukovsky in the films 007 The World Is Not Enough and 007 Against GoldenEye. In 2006, the actor received an award from Queen Elizabeth II for his contribution to British cinema.
