The number of men checking their cancer risk following King's prostate diagnosis is increasing, according to a charity

News of the King's diagnosis of an enlarged prostate has led to thousands of men checking to see if they are at risk of prostate cancer, new figures show.

NHS England said since Charles shared his diagnosis, the enlarged prostate page on the NHS website had received 26,170 visits in 48 hours, including a further 9,760 visits on Thursday, compared to a daily average of 1,400 visits earlier in the week.

And the number of people using Prostate Cancer UK's online risk checker has also risen sharply.

According to the charity, there were 8,025 risk checks as of Thursday, of which 6,800 were classified as high risk.

The numbers represent an increase of 101% from the previous day (3,993) and 139% from the previous week.

One in three men over 50 experience symptoms of an enlarged prostate, including more frequent trips to the toilet, greater urgency and difficulty emptying the bladder.

Harry recalls John Travolta's dance with Diana as he asks to 'fly together'

The Duke of Sussex told John Travolta that it would be appropriate for them to fly together after recalling the actor dancing with his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, more than three decades ago.

Harry made the comments in his speech at the Living Legends of Aviation ceremony in Los Angeles, hosted by aviation ambassador Travolta, 69, hours after it was claimed he learned of King Charles' health through a news report.

Diana, who died in a car accident in 1997, hit the dance floor with Grease star Travolta at a White House dinner in 1985.

During the event, where he was recognized for his work as a British Army veteran and pilot, Harry told Travolta: “I was just a year old when you danced with my mother in the White House, and now look at us. “The only thing left to do is… not to dance together, but to fly together.”

King Charles' “concern” for the hospitalized Princess of Wales

King Charles will have spoken to the Princess of Wales while she recovers in hospital and will not want her back to work “earlier than she deems necessary”, according to his biographer.

Robert Hardman told Newsweek he assumed Charles had been in contact with Kate since the operation: “Yes, I would certainly have thought so. He is a big fan of hers. He considers her a great asset. He will be more worried about her than anyone except Prince William.

“She’s fit, she’s young and she’s been out of action for three months. This is cause for concern, not concern, but he will definitely take the view, “For heaven's sake, don't make her feel like she has to return to her duties sooner than she feels she needs to.”

Who in the royal family is out of action?

With the King due to be hospitalized next week to correct his mild condition and William – next in line to the throne – and Kate out of action for the immediate future, Charles has been downsizing his monarchy – three of the most senior members of the royal family missing – during During his reign he was put under pressure in a way that had never been seen before.

Majesty magazine's Joe Little said the health problems had exacerbated the problem for the small group of working royals.

Mr Little said: “Working members of the Royal Family have been under pressure to maintain the level of engagement undertaken by a much larger team in previous years.

“The sudden exclusion of three of the oldest players for health reasons significantly exacerbates the problem, but at least the King will only be out of action for a relatively short period of time.”

The Queen is still officiating engagements, joining the Princess Royal, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra as the current active monarchy – with the latter two in recent years appear increasingly frail over the years.

Who else was treated at the London Clinic?

The Princess of Wales spends her fifth day in the London clinic after receiving a visit from her husband, the Prince of Wales.

The London Clinic is the largest independent private hospital in the country and was founded in 1932 by Queen Elizabeth's parents, King George VI. and Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, when they were known as the Duke and Duchess of York.

A group of leading medical specialists came together to plan a new facility with the highest standards of medical and construction standards, and various royal ties have existed with the facility ever since.

Queen Elizabeth's uncle, the Duke of Windsor, had eye surgery at the clinic in 1960, and Queen Elizabeth's sister Princess Margaret was treated there in 1980 and a benign skin lesion was removed.

Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth's 73-year-old husband, underwent abdominal surgery at the London Clinic in June 2013 and stayed there for 11 days, the BBC reported.

King Charles' diagnosis could lead to more men checking their prostates

The royal has returned to Sandringham and is ready to undergo treatment for an enlarged prostate next week.

Ian Eardley, a consultant urological surgeon in Leeds and national clinical director for NHS England, said the condition became more common with age and affected up to four in five men aged 75.

“This happens very, very often. At this age you would expect more than 70 to 80 per cent of men to have an enlarged prostate,” he told Web.

“About half of them will have symptoms, and broadly speaking, about half of them will be bothered by those symptoms to some degree.

“In some ways, it’s an inevitable part of aging for almost all men.

“The nature of these things, if made public, will lead to more men seeking help. That's good.”
