Hostages: "Hamas sets unacceptable conditions for an agreement" (Israeli officials) I24 i24 in French

A summit will be convened in one of Europe's capitals early next week to reach a new deal to release Israeli hostages held by Hamas for 112 days.

“There are currently no conditions for starting negotiations, the conditions put forward by Hamas are unacceptable,” Israeli officials say.

Senior Israeli officials said that even mediators understand that these conditions are impossible and that Sinwar and Hamas have increased their demands in negotiations. They demand a complete Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and guarantee that Hamas will remain in power after the war.

Among those expected at the summit are the Prime Minister of Qatar, the head of the CIA and the head of the Mossad Barnea. They will meet in Europe to see whether a breakthrough towards an agreement can still be achieved despite the difficult conditions. A senior Israeli official involved in the negotiations told Channel 12: “Under no circumstances should we accept these conditions, otherwise all countries in the region will understand that Israel can be overthrown through hostage-taking.”

This Friday, Hamas released a propaganda video showing three hostages: Doron Steinbracher, Karina Ariev and Daniela Gilboa.
