“I'm convinced it will be full”: the Black Eyed Peas at the Festivent de Lévis

Festivent had already ensured that Parc Champigny would be filled at least once next summer when Bryan Adams' return to Lévis was confirmed before the holidays. A second evening that promises to be busy will be added with the announcement of the arrival of the Black Eyed Peas on the 1stum August.

Have you heard I Gotta Feeling live? Your wait is over.

The American group (which has been touring with singer J. Rey Soul since Fergie's departure in 2018), previously confirmed at the Grandes Fêtes Telus in Rimouski on August 2, will return to Greater Quebec 14 years after their departure from The Abraham Plain is upside down during the 2010 Summer Festival.

“I am convinced that the site will be full,” predicts Festivent programmer Sébastien Huot, who is very proud of his two main headliners. “You can’t go wrong with two hours of success.”

The impact would also be felt on ticket sales, which began in December following the announcement of the Bryan Adams concert. According to Mr. Huot, tickets are selling faster than at the same time in 2018, Festivent's record year for traffic.

Simple plan

In addition to the arrival of Will.i.am, Apl.de.ap and Taboo, Festivent also announced that Montreal group Simple Plan is joining its lineup on August 3rd.

In their case, explains Sébastien Huot, it was a postponed game. Simple Plan was scheduled to take part in the event in 2023, but an offer to tour as the opening act for The Offspring changed their plans.

Of the five spots reserved for the Parc Champigny headliners, only two are still free. “I signed one of them, but I can’t say anything about it at the moment,” says the programmer.

Always earlier

However, a trend seems to be emerging. As has been the case with major American festivals for several years, the program of summer music events in Quebec is announcing the names of its stars ever earlier.

Historically, Festivent played its cards in May, and the same applies to most festivals held in July, August and September.

This year, however, Montreal's Osheaga and Lasso festivals, Festivent, Festi-Voix de Trois-Rivières, Grandes Fêtes Telus and Victofest have released their programs in whole or in part.

“Artists are planning their concerts earlier and earlier. Since the pandemic, they have been announcing whether they will tour the following year. “At the moment I already have availability for 2025,” notes Sébastien Huot, who sees an advantage for his festival in pushing ahead with its announcements.

“With the Summer Festival and Cigale, there are many offers in the Quebec region. You have to create the leisure dollar to get a good portion of it. It helps a lot to arrive before Christmas, as was the case with Bryan Adams this year.

  • The festival takes place from July 31st to August 4th. Passes are currently available for pre-sale for a limited time for $59.99 instead of the regular price of $69.99.
