Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli filled the Dominican capital with elegance in his concert last night with the Santo Domingo Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Carlos Bernini.
In front of an audience that came not only from Santo Domingo, but also from other parts of the Dominican Republic and surrounding countries, Bocelli took the stage in a tuxedo – after the Philharmonic had first performed “L'arlesienne” by Georges Bizet, his appearance with one Main course, “La donna è mobile” from “Rigoletto” by Giuseppe Verdi.
His concert at the Olympic Stadium was divided into two clearly differentiated parts: the first focused on opera and operetta (accompanied in some songs by the Cuban soprano María Aleida) and the second on more popular songs in Spanish and Italian as well as Carolina Rial and also with her son Matteo Bocelli.
