Israel reports incident on border with Lebanon news

The Israeli army says it shot down a rocket fired from Lebanon last night that was intended to hit an Israeli drone. The aircraft was not damaged. In a further response, Israel’s army said it attacked Hezbollah targets in the neighboring country. Additionally, enemy aircraft penetrated northern Israel. It was initially unclear where exactly it came from. According to the military, a missile alarm was triggered.

After the start of the ceasefire in the Gaza war, there was a tense calm on the Israeli-Lebanese border yesterday. Neither the Israeli military nor Hezbollah in Lebanon reported any military incidents. However, according to the Shiite organization, Israeli fighter jets were spotted in Lebanese airspace. The Qatar-brokered ceasefire agreement does not cover the Israeli-Lebanese border.

Since the start of the war in Gaza, following the Hamas massacre in Israel on October 7, there have been repeated clashes between the Israeli army and Hezbollah in the border region. There have been deaths on both sides. It is the worst escalation since the second Lebanon war in 2006. There are concerns that the war could spread to other countries.
