James Cameron, 68, has spoken out about rumors he’s been nominated to direct a film about the Titan submersible.
The information was released yesterday by British tabloid The Sun.
The director said the rumors were “insulting”. “I don’t normally respond to offensive rumors in the press, but now I have to. I’m not in talks to do a movie about ‘OceanGate’ and never will be,” he wrote on Twitter.
The tabloid claimed that a major streaming company is planning a production.who wants to keep counting on Matt Damon and Kumail Nanjiani in the cast.

Last month, five crew members died on the Titanic after the submersible, which was on an expedition to the Titanic’s wreckage, imploded at the bottom of the North Atlantic.
